Loving Jesus.
Serving Salem.
Celebrating Life.
Highrock North Shore is a church plant in Salem, Massachusetts, serving the greater North Shore of Boston. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational congregation gathering for worship every Sunday at 9:00 AM at 292 Lafayette Street. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time or have been part of a church community for years, you are welcome here.
We are part of the Highrock Network, a family of churches across Greater Boston — including congregations in Acton, Arlington, Brookline, Cambridge, Haverhill, Lexington, Malden, Metrowest, and Quincy.
Rooted in Salem, Connected Across the North Shore
Highrock North Shore meets at First Baptist Church on Lafayette Street. Our worship service blends thoughtful teaching, music, and prayer in a setting that welcomes people from every background. KidsRock, our children's ministry, runs during the service in the Education Wing on the second floor — so families can worship knowing their kids are cared for and engaged.
Beyond Sunday mornings, we gather in LifeGroups, small communities that meet throughout the week for connection, spiritual growth, and mutual support. Ministries like ArtSpeak, Soultraining, Open Door Immigration, and our Prayer Ministry offer additional ways to grow and serve.

LifeGroups are small communities that meet regularly for fellowship, study, and prayer. They are the best way to build relationships and grow in faith alongside others.
KidsRock
Our children's ministry is located in the Education Wing on the second floor, providing age-appropriate programs during the 9:00 AM worship service. KidsRock creates a safe, engaging environment where children can learn about faith while parents participate in the main service.
Learn MoreGathering together in worship is at the heart of who we are as a church community. Every Sunday morning we come as we are, bringing our joys, our questions, and our hopes before God. Through music, prayer, and the teaching of Scripture, we seek to encounter the living God who meets us in our everyday lives. Worship is not a performance to observe but a participation in something far greater than ourselves, a foretaste of heaven coming to earth as we lift our voices together across generations and backgrounds.
We believe that following Jesus is not meant to be done in isolation. LifeGroups are the smaller communities where deeper relationships are formed and faith is worked out in the context of real friendship. These gatherings meet in homes throughout Salem and the surrounding North Shore neighborhoods, providing space for honest conversation, shared meals, prayer, and mutual encouragement. Whether you are new to faith or have walked with God for decades, being part of a LifeGroup is one of the most meaningful ways to grow and be known.
Serving the city of Salem is central to our calling. We are not here simply to hold services but to love our neighbors in tangible, practical ways. From partnering with local food pantries to supporting immigrant families and international students, we seek to be a presence of hope and generosity in the places we live, work, and raise our children. Serving is not a program we run but an identity we embrace, because we believe that God's love becomes visible when ordinary people show up with open hands and willing hearts.
We are a church that celebrates the beauty and creativity of God expressed through the arts. Our ArtSpeak gallery and community arts gatherings provide a space where visual artists, musicians, and creators of all kinds can explore the intersection of faith and artistic expression. We believe that art has the power to open hearts, ask honest questions, and point toward deeper truths about life, God, and the human experience. Creativity is not separate from worship but woven into it, reflecting the character of the Creator.
Spiritual formation is a lifelong journey of being transformed into the likeness of Jesus. Through practices like prayer, Scripture reading, solitude, and intentional community, we learn to orient our whole lives around the love of God. Soul training is not about religious performance but about making space for the Holy Spirit to shape our desires, habits, and character. We offer spiritual guides and resources to help each person take their next step, whatever season of faith they find themselves in.
We are part of the Highrock Network, a family of churches extending across Greater Boston in communities like Arlington, Brookline, Cambridge, Lexington, and beyond. This connection means we are not alone in our mission. We share resources, wisdom, and encouragement with sister congregations while remaining deeply rooted in the unique character and needs of Salem and the North Shore. Being part of something larger reminds us that the church is bigger than any one neighborhood, city, or generation.
KidsRock is our ministry to children and families, because we believe that young people are not just the future of the church but an integral part of it right now. On Sunday mornings and throughout the week, we create environments where kids can encounter God's love in ways that are engaging, age-appropriate, and fun. Parents are supported and resourced as the primary spiritual influences in their children's lives. We want every child to know that they are seen, known, and deeply loved by God.
Hospitality is woven into the fabric of our common life. Whether you are a longtime resident of the North Shore or have just arrived in Salem, we want you to feel genuinely welcomed. Our community dinners, weekend gatherings, and informal meetups at local spots like the Notch Brewery are simple but intentional ways we share life together. There is no checklist to complete or appearance to maintain. Showing up as your authentic self is enough, and there is always room at the table for one more.
We are a church that holds together both joy and lament, celebration and honesty about the brokenness of the world. Life is not simple, and faith does not pretend otherwise. In the Psalms we find a language for every human emotion, and in Jesus we see God entering fully into our suffering and our hope. We gather not because we have everything figured out but because we are learning together what it means to follow the One who is making all things new.
ArtSpeak
ArtSpeak is our creative arts ministry, exploring the intersection of faith and artistic expression. Through the ArtSpeak Gallery and ArtScribble gatherings, we celebrate the role of creativity in worship and community life.
