Ways to Serve This Month


Serve in the SPUR Garden! The SPUR Community Roots garden, located at St. Andrew's Church on Lafayette Street in Marblehead, benefits area food pantries and community programs. Volunteers are welcome all growing season to join as often as they choose for maintenance and/or harvesting. Whether you are experienced in gardening or a beginner, all abilities are welcome. Sew Pillowcases for the Holiday Cheer Drive! - Join the Sew Good Team as they create pillowcases to be used as Bundles of Cheer for the 2022 SPUR Holiday Cheer Drive. Tasks include sorting, matching, cutting, ironing, and sewing fabric.  All sewing stations will be spread throughout the office and masks will be required.

Cook for Lifebridge! - Volunteer to prepare 10 portions of a designated meal for Lifebridge, an organization that provides shelter, food, and supportive services to the local homeless population and people in need. In-person service at this facility has been paused at this time. Check out the SPUR volunteer calendar for Lifebridge meal prep dates.  

Recuperative Care Center Meal Drops Three times a month volunteers have the opportunity to make a meal at home for clients at the Lifebridge RCC in Lynn. All volunteers for these opportunities will be responsible to drop off the meal at their facility. Check out the SPUR volunteer calendar for RCC meal prep dates.

Highrock North Shore

June 8th Outreach Meal - This is a once a month event where members of our church family help serve people with food insecurity in the Beverly area. Sign up to spend the second Wednesday of the month at Living Faith Methodist Church (2 Dane Street, Beverly) with our neighbors who depend on a network of local churches and organizations for a reliable evening meal.

Serve on the Kidsrock Team! Our Kidsrock team is in need of nursery volunteers, teachers, and helpers! All volunteers will need to be CORI checked. Sign up HERE to join the team!

Ellis Square Friends

Volunteer for the weekly meal! Every Thursday, Ellis Square friends provides a warm dinner and a packed lunch to those facing food insecurity. Sign up to decorate lunch bags, pick up food donations before the meal, or deliver meals to those in need! 

Beverly Bootstraps

Volunteer in the Food Pantry! - The Beverly Bootstraps food pantry provides assistance to those facing food insecurity. Volunteer for a once a week shift (for a period of 3 months) to help prepare food for distribution. Find out more HERE

Volunteer in the Thrift Shop! - The Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop provides low cost necessities to those in need in our community, and is open to any in the public looking for a good deal.  All of the proceeds from the Thrift Shop support the programs of Beverly Bootstraps. Volunteers help sort donations, keep the shop clean, and assist staff with the tasks to keep things running smoothly. Find out more HERE.

Be an Adult Education Tutor! - Beverly Bootstraps provides HiSET (formally known as GED) Test Preparation and ESOL classes online for adults. Volunteers provide1:1 or small group educational to support for students over Zoom, and work with the educational supervisor to plan activities. Find out more HERE.

North East Seafarers Mission

Cruise Ship Ministry - Volunteers are needed to assist in the cruise ship ministry!  Join us for a day at the Seafarer’s Center in Boston and help run the operations that serve seafarers from all over the world.  Sign up for a volunteer position on the calendar here!
