Brookline, Mass., March 1 - Highrock Brookline announced today that Kat Hampson will become its new Lead Pastor following a vote at a members’ meeting on February 28, 2021.
Do you find yourself spending a lot more time hanging around the house lately? That makes this the perfect time to get involved in the Highrock Outreach Meal.
This is a once a month event where members of our church family help serve people with food insecurity in the Beverly area.
Connie Linscott and her crew have been spending the second Wednesday of the month at Living Faith Methodist Church (2 Dane Street, Beverly) with our neighbors who depend on a network of local churches and organizations for a reliable evening meal. This is a thriving ministry that is more needed than ever in our current situation.
We have developed a “social distancing” method of pick up and drop off that makes it even easier for people to take part.
If you don’t want to read all the following suggestions and just want to sign the heck up - Yay, you!! - go here!
Spending time with your kids at home? (SO MUCH TIME!!) Have them help you make cookies or other treats and put them (with love) in sandwich bags to distribute. Don’t have sandwich bags? Don’t worry, we can bag them up if necessary. But the bags help.
Feeling stressed about the lack of sports opportunities? Mash some potatoes! It’s aggressive and fun.
Want to feed a big group of people who will appreciate it, but don’t have a full house? Make a big old pot of beef stew! If you want to cook but are concerned about finding ingredients, email Barb Fecteau - she's a Market Basket warrior!
There are also less work-y items. We also need:
It looks like a potluck, but don’t be fooled .This is a necessary ministry that helps people who are living through the same crazy time we are with a whole other level of uncertainty. Please help keep this going!
Please bring your donation to the Living Faith UMC (2 Dane Street, Beverly) parking lot on April 8th between 4:30 and 5. You can text Barb at 978-764-3182 and she will pick it up from your car.
Label any containers you need back with your address and they will be returned sometime next week.
If you want to help, but can't deliver in that window of time, email or text Barb for drop off at a different time or pickup.
