Lepta (Mark 12:41-45)

If we turn the page to the first option, she keeps the lepta.  Or at least one of them, right? This is the safe thing, the prudent thing, the wise thing, to do with her last lepta.  She should stay alive for at least one more day because then maybe she can figure out another day after that.  She can try to buy food with it, try and invest it somehow, save it for when she’s really, really truly starving - and really, that won’t be a long time from now.  Maybe in the meantime, she can find a way to multiply the lepta, get a little bit more, keep going a little while longer. Keep the lepta, most of our world would say. Keep the lepta, most of us would say. But there is another option, another ending to the Choose Your Own Adventure.
