Born and raised in rural Minnesota, Aaron studied finance at the University of Minnesota and then worked as a banker before attending Gordon-Conwell. Prior to planting Highrock North Shore in 2012, Aaron served on staff at Highrock Arlington since 2007, where he served as the Pastor to Young Adults.
He's devoted to his wife Ariel, a native of the North Shore, and their daughter, Elsie. Aaron gets passionate about teaching God's story of redemption, seeing sold out followers of Jesus, University of MN College Hockey, and celebrating the life God has given to us, His people. Aaron is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.
Brynn grew up in Southern California, but in pursuit of a new adventure, moved to the North Shore in 2002 to study theology and writing at Gordon College. It didn't take long for Brynn to fall in love...with the North Shore coastline, Captain Dusty's ice cream, and her now husband Aaron, a Massachusetts native. Yes, we know it's confusing - Brynn is married to an Aaron and also works for an Aaron and they're different guys.
After college, she spent time working with churches in California and Georgia before heading back up north to pursue a Master of Divinity degree at Gordon-Conwell. Brynn gets excited about seeing God's Kingdom breaking in all over the community, encouraging others to live into their unique gifts, and throwing massive parties. Brynn is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.
Hailing from Columbia, MO, Matt has fallen in love with the people, places, and history of New England. While he remains faithful to the Kansas City Royals, all other sports allegiances have shifted to Boston, which is for the best. Matt, his wife Megan, and their three young sons (Griffin, Thatcher, and Andersen) aim to plant a new Highrock church in the summer of 2018. Matt earned a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship for future Christian Leaders. He has served as a youth pastor, high school English teacher, and K-Life area director. Matt is passionate about the gospel’s ability to overcome all barriers. He loves Jesus, grace, C.S. Lewis, cats, good coffee, Broadway musicals, spicy food, NBA basketball, and hearing stories that reveal God’s heart to seek and save the least and the lost.
Brent was born and raised in Oklahoma, where he studied Biblical Languages at Oklahoma Baptist University and then attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to serving on staff at Highrock North Shore, Brent obtained his second Master’s Degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is devoted to his wife Hilary, and their dog, Sugar. Brent gets excited about teaching God's story, seeing sold out concert venues, and the University of OK College Marching Band. Brent is awesome.
Kristi-Lynn is a native New Englander. When she and her family moved to the North Shore from Ohio in 2010 it felt like coming home to be living by the ocean and waking up to the smell of salty air each morning. Kristi-Lynn is a Special Education Administrator for the Salem Public Schools where she advocates for children with disabilities. Kristi-Lynn lives in Salem with her husband, Adam, and two beautiful children, named Katie El and Artie, along with one ginormous cat, Tux.
Brian is an English teacher, a songwriter, and a church musician. He grew up in Salem, lives in Salem, and writes about Salem for ArtThrob Magazine. Brian also collaborates with musician Jon Green, writing lyrics and music. He married his high school sweetheart, Kerrie, and together, they have a son, Levi, and a daughter, Magnolia.
Angie was born in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and lived there until moving to Blacksburg to attend college at Virginia Tech. Upon graduating in 2013, she uprooted to the North Shore to pursue a Master of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
An avid sports fan, Angie enjoys cheering on her Hokies and coaching volleyball at Salem High School. Over the next few years, she hopes to engage the rich sports culture of New England by attending events at each of the major venues in the area. Angie is passionate about prayer, deep conversation, and seeing middle school and high school students discover and engage their faith in today’s culture.
Raised in Southeast Virginia, Marcus studied Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech before coming to the North Shore to pursue a Master of Divinity degree. Marcus knows too much about Red Sox baseball and considers Fenway Park a second home. He is a classic literature enthusiast, ardent video game player, concert addict, and board game geek. At the end of the day, If it involves good conversation, he’s in -- His mission in life is to discover the beautiful stories that lay hidden around us.
Abby is an outdoor enthusiastic, an active adventurer, and a passionate advocate for immigrants. She spent most of her life in the Pacific Northwest, lived for a year down in Peru (South America), and transplanted to New England two years ago.
Abby is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where she earned her Masters of Divinity degree. She also received her B.A. in Spanish and her B.A. in Theology from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. She lives on the North Shore with her husband, Preston.
Maria was born and raised in Braintree, MA and has a strong passion for serving and loving the people of the Greater Boston area. She enjoys reading, growing, and learning new things whenever possible.
Maria recently graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with her Masters of Divinity degree. She also received her B.A. in Transformational Ministry and Bible from Life Pacific College in San Dimas, CA. She lives on the North Shore with her husband, Jacob, and their son, Jack.
