Transforming Our Wallets: Budgeting & Generosity

*8 week class meeting on Thursday evenings

Money is often a source of anxiety. Either there is more month than money and we are apprehensive about living paycheck to paycheck, or we have surplus funds and it remains a source of anxiety because we do not know how to enjoy what we have been given and we feel guilty. It is hard to think about being generous when weighed down by anxiety. Yet generosity is one of the hallmarks of being a Christ follower, and real generosity comes from a place of joy, not fear; love, not obligation. While there are many forms of generosity, the emphasis of this course will be on money. Practically and simply speaking, the starting point of tackling all money troubles and enabling generosity is learning to budget. Budgeting is the cheapest thing we cannot notafford to do (double negative for emphasis), so the primary focus of this course will be learning how to make a plan for our finances.
